Another stupid move by the baltic clowns. Jet fuel prices keep rising and these morons are spending like crazy. We all knew Baltic countries would fail just as the Balkan clown did. If the stupid morons at Brussels take Latvia and litvaks to euro and Serbia as an EU member. That all it needs now. Reply to the comment answer

You've been saying this for FOUR years. You predicted 25% unemployment, the meltdown of the economies of Estonia and Latvia, plus numerous other things and NONE of your predictions have come true. Why oh why should anyone take you seriously?

@Baltics Bosnia Tiger

Maybe the rising jet fuel price is the reason why they are switching to new planes will use 20% less fuel!
Or would you suggest they keep using the same gas guzzling planes?

Airbus is the most fuel efficient plane produces on the market, correct. These clowns can't afford to buy from Airbus than or did they tell you in Eesti propaganda ministry that this plane these clowns buy is the efficient fuel wise.

This ac will be a success in alla aspects regarding specifications and performance. It looks good for the C-series to get out on the market on time rather than a 2-4 years delay which usually is a standard these days from both Boeing and Airbus. A very good choise by Air Baltic and several others. Once out on the market sales will most likely pick up and the backlog for ordering a new ac by Bombardier will last for a long time. It will be the Finns and Germans having the last laugh. It is too bad Airbus can't lower its prices on third world level so balts could afford some of those planes, eh.

Not likely because of all the cockpit power failures they have had. Google the article. It isn't pretty for Airbus.

This was Estonian Air's strategy two years ago. Buy Bombardier-produced jets using financing from Export Development Canada.

And now... Estonian Air plans to move away from those and to Embraer. My guess is that Canada had stringent financing terms and EA's financial condition was not acceptable. As it is, the current 3 jets EA has from Bombardier are not owned by EA but through a holding company in the Cayman Islands. I think this was done to keep the assets (planes) away from the rest of EA's poor financial balance sheet.

In fact, Bombardier has filed suite against Estonian Air for breach of contract for not taking the additional planes they had ordered.

I haven't looked at Air Baltic to see if they are in the same situation, but let's not assume buying Bombardier jets will solve all problems. Reply to the comment answer
