Rehn, Grumpy and the boys have made good money out of these losers. There is no other reason for them wanting third worlders like Latvia to eurozone. Reply to the comment answer
~i hope that [31.10.2012, 17:33]
Latvia is hardly third world, if you want to see third world go take a look at the immigrant ghettos of Western Europe, particularly in London, Brussels, Paris, Amsterdam, Berlin and Malmo where Arabic script is everywhere on the street side.
~ko [31.10.2012, 19:23]
Not third world with twenty percent unemployment, high poverty and crime rate plus one of the highest HIV rates in Europe. Keep denying the truth.
~whahauhshs [31.10.2012, 20:43]
Nope, not third world, but thanks for playing.
~ko [31.10.2012, 21:24]
Links please for 20% unemployment in Estonia.
~@31 IQ [31.10.2012, 21:24]
A game to you, but those poor little eesti clowns and latvians willing to even sell their bodies find it very serious.
~it might be [31.10.2012, 22:06]
As usual, no proof. Just BS hot air and delusional fantasies.
~@30 IQ [31.10.2012, 22:27]
"Clowns?" Why are you being so insulting to people you don't even know? Do you get off typing insults behind your computer screen all day? Good grief man, how long have you been doing it here under multiple names?
~ko [31.10.2012, 22:36]
Same reason eastern idiots feel the need to insults Brits, Germans, Americans and other westerners they so deeply envy.
~why? [31.10.2012, 22:51]
Hey, Mr 20% unemployment. Where are your links?
~@30 IQ [31.10.2012, 22:57]
Isn't it a little self-absorbed to think just because you are a Westerner everybody envies you? I'm certainly not going to tell you how to do things, but I think you will find insulting others is a bad way to get them on your side of an argument.
~ko [31.10.2012, 23:37]
I will add that there shouldn't be a reason to insult any fellow Euros on here, be they Brits, French, Germans, Balts, Poles, Scandinavians or anything else, we are all in this together anyway.
~ko [31.10.2012, 23:44]
No. You are "not all this together". You are not even close to Britain and Germany. Not financially or culturally, get that to your thick skull.
~smug estonians [01.11.2012, 13:32]
Are you referring to British lager lout and binge drinking culture?
~British Culture? LOL [01.11.2012, 13:45]
I'm actually Canadian and I'm certainly glad I'm not British or German thank you very much!
~ko [01.11.2012, 15:39]
Well im glad Im not a canuck nationalist so stick that in your maple leaf pancake! Vive Le where Libre?
~Pierre Elliot Trudeau [01.11.2012, 15:55]
Thank you for your thoughtless input, I'm going to stop feeding the troll now if you don't mind.
~ko [01.11.2012, 16:04]
Ko, do you possibly distribute Maple Syrup overseas?

I'm a lil' tired of these Estonian pancakes dipped in salty sour cream all the time...
~knut albers [01.11.2012, 16:08]
Canuck? Well that would explain a lot. I think you have been spending too much time outside in Edmonton.
~ah steel [01.11.2012, 16:15]
I'm here on business, what are you doing? Are you even in Estonia right now or are you somewhere in Germany or the UK writing empty rhetoric and hot air on your computer all day? Based on your comments, you come off sounding like you're a bored teenager, just saying.
~ko [01.11.2012, 16:41]
Knut, nah I'm afraid I'm not into the maple syrup business.
~ko [01.11.2012, 16:42]
Knut, my comment about hot air and trolling was not directed at you, it was directed at this guy who keeps writing unproductive stuff on here under multiple names, just to clarify.
~ko [01.11.2012, 16:43]
Ko, no worries, I understood to whom your message was addressed. I think we all feel the same on this individual.
~knut albers [02.11.2012, 08:56]
Business? Only business you are here for is to demonstrate the western readers of s simple mind of a person from the Balkans and ex-Eastern Bloc. ha ha. Do not claim you some native canuck with deep roots to a frozen village like Edmonton. Maybe a russian retard who's ancestors immigrant during the civil war, at best.
~oh please [02.11.2012, 12:11]
@ oh please

Do you look as stupid as you sound? And why do you keep insisting I'm from Edmonton, I'm from Victoria, British Columbia in case you must know.
~ko [02.11.2012, 13:03]
To the eurosceptic from the UK:

Move back to the UK and live among the other eurosceptics.
~Emanuel [02.11.2012, 13:19]
All you British eurosceptics should remember that the UK will be more and more isolated as the Eurozone continues to expand.

Enjoy your isolation, British eurosceptics!

The Eurozone may be a sinking ship, but Latvia is a sunk ship. Hordes of people have left the sunk economy of Latvia. Dumbrovskis name says it all, Dumb! Reply to the comment answer

The quality of the commentary section on this site is very low thanks to benighted and barely literate trolls writing insults and grade-school level rhetoric under every article. I think BBN should get rid of the comment section all together or have some moderator to clean up all of this junk being posted by trolls (who may actually be the same person). Is that the famous "freedom of speech", you support propaganda guy. When one does not agree with you, ya start raving like a child. Estonia is an infantile nation stuck on arrested development. You are living proof of this.
~permanent evidence [31.10.2012, 20:44]
"Propaganda guy?" What on earth are talking about? Yes, of course it's freedom of speech, but the interesting thing about freedom of speech is that illiterate morons and trolls are free to make fools of themselves.

"The media expert believes Latvia, like Estonia, has much to gain from the changeover."

YES like what?
Name ONE thing that Estonia has gained from joining the Euro?
Higher fuel prices (yes they are lower at present in Latvia than Estonia), the highest inflation in the EU, general belief in the population that joining the Euro raised prices....etc etc....

Who are Estonia's main trading partners?
Russia, Finland, Sweden, Norway, Lithunia, Ukraine, Latvia, Poland.

Are the majority of them in the Euro?

NO, and a large number of Estonians choose to work in Finland for the money, and export to NON EURO countries.

So how has joining the Euro made any difference apart from making Estonia LESS attractive and less competitive?

This is all a case of dis-information, propaganda, and lobbying.

None of the supposed advantages of joining the Euro is true.

I agree, Estonia didn't need to join the Euro, it was all the politicians who were desperate to get in with the so-called "in" crowd. There should have been a referendum. And now getting out of the Euro free willingly is next to impossible because of massive eurocracy.
~W [01.11.2012, 10:18]
you need to read it this way: In case Latvia joins the Eurozone, the become less price competitive, and hence, this is benefitial to Estonian suppliers.
~knut albers [01.11.2012, 12:47]
"I agree, Estonia didn't need to join the Euro, it was all the politicians who were desperate to get in with the so-called "in" crowd."

Politicians usually create more mess than they are able to resolve - well intent or not doesn't matter.

Even 4 year old kids understand that and are no longer to take the terror of the busybodies:

My suggestion: Mind your own business and leave our kids alone, most certainly take your hands off from their future assets just to burn them down through phony mechanisms such as ESM.

I have a message for the British Eurosceptic who is writing comments using multiple names: Move back to the UK where you can live among other British Eurosceptics.

Remember that the UK will be more and more isolated as the Eurozone continues to expand. Reply to the comment answer

Fighting fire with fire isn't a good option either.

You are fighting so called "eurosceptics" by threaten them with a split.

That makes you an anti-european, and hence, makes you even more miserable than them.

In fact, the battle of the EURO is just a proxy for people that are for or against Big Governments.

You obviously are a supporter of a Big Government. You have to live with the idea that not everyone thinks the same.

Some reasons may be reviewed over here:

Knut Albers,

I hope that the UK will be more and more isolated as more countries join the Eurozone.

Latvia will adopt the Euro on 1 January 2014.

Lavia's adoption of the Euro in 2014 is a great success for the Eurozone. Reply to the comment answer

Knut,

I believe that there should be deeper integration in the European Union.

The expansion of the Eurozone and that of the Schengen Area are part of the process of deeper integration in the EU.

I don't like Eurosceptics because they are against the European project. Reply to the comment answer
