A lot of Russians there. How will propaganda spin this. Reply to the comment answer

Russians seem to be more clever. They use the "dark" way to get rich.
~scheileke [29.09.2012, 06:47]
All of the people in the East use those methods, no matter what propaganda guy says. Bribery and other criminal activities are very common in South and East Europe. Estonians pay more taxed than Greeks, but other than that they have nothing to brag about.

This list has not changed much over the years, as most of the names seem familiar from earlier.

My theory is that a lot of the Russian-speakers doing business in Estonia simply don't find a need to integrate in Estonian "high society" so you don't see them pictures on the pages of Kroonika or Aripaev.

A good example of this is a company called Creative Mobile http://creative-mobile.com/

They make apps for iOS and Android, and up until a few months ago, you never heard of them at the Estonian "startup scene" events. Yet, they made something like 3.5 million EUR in _profit_ last year from selling those apps, and they had only around 25 employees. That's an example of a successful startup, especially considering they were founded only in 2010. Yet, they were never mentioned in the Estonian startup circles until recently, as no one had heard of them. I think the company was busy focusing on their company and product, instead of just trying to show off in society but not getting things done. To prove that point, simply look at GameFounders, which is an incubator focused on gaming companies founded in Estonia earlier this year. Nowhere in their press releases do they mention Creative Mobile, and I think it's because they had never heard of them. Surely if you were trying to entice gaming companies to start up in Estonia, you'd want to mention the great success of an Estonian gaming company?

And how do they get rich in the West? Tax avoidance schemes, anyone? Reply to the comment answer

The most corrupt people in USA and other western countries are usually immigrants from East and South Europe. In America though Mexicans and Chinese are taking over. There are of course criminal westerners but the majority is formed by people who have eastern or southern European origins.
~maybe knatwurst Gott [29.09.2012, 20:00]
Mitt Romney is Eastern European? I didn´t know it. ;)
~scheileke [30.09.2012, 11:22]
Also China belongs to Eastern Europe? Man, I learn from you. :D))))
~scheileke [30.09.2012, 11:25]
You know perfectly well that I meant Chinese are replacing you eastern folks on the crime stats in USA. In away China is the same camp with you. They too were communist and alien to western style rule.
~krugger [30.09.2012, 13:36]
Sorry, I was so lucky to be born in Western Europe. :D)))))
And I´m proud of this.

You have a very bigoted view of the issue. It the immigrants fault; the local white boys wouldn't do anything wrong, right? Reply to the comment answer

These people wont earn living honorably. Not saying Americans do not have this fault. Of course individuals like Romney do. However you can understand these Americans. They don't want to do "lesser jobs" because they were born and raise in luxury. Estonians, Russians and most of the eastern folks were however raise in soviet dust. Their ancestors were peasant serfs. Not nobility or even middle class. Poles are the least arrogant. That is why most Polski folks became plumbers while emigrating to the UK.
~of course it is [30.09.2012, 13:40]
The Eastern folks were born and raise in Soviet dust. They were guilty by themself. Why they didn´t fight against it?
~scheileke [30.09.2012, 13:56]
Because most of the Estonians and other folks were poor farmers and factory workers who thought Lenin would give them the world. They were certainly no where near on the level of Finns despite telling these lies to West and using money to promote them. You can see this in the Olympic team of Russian Empire. It was always composed mostly of Finns and few Russians from advanced areas. Yeah some Eesti people sneak to it in 1912. I guess that is another reason they should thank Russians. Those evil Russians accepted and allowed them to the Olympic team. Gave them valuable lessons they used to from up a team to the 1920 Olympics. Finland was technically a separate entity but it was still Russia.

You are showing your ignorance of eastern European history. There were strong resistance movements in Estonia, Latvia and Ukraine but they were all defeated by the Soviets in the end. If Nazi Germany got its ass kicked hard by the Soviets, then how do you expect the resistance movements to win? Reply to the comment answer
~@scheileke [30.09.2012, 16:12]
Easy. Fight together.
~scheileke [30.09.2012, 19:01]
Resistance in Eesti? Yeah right. Estonians and Latvians were one of the biggest foreign volunteer groups of the SS outside Danes and Norwegians. Estonians and Latvians also helped Germans exterminate the Jewish population in their respective countries. This has been confirmed by historians themselves. Nice try propaganda guy, but once again no cigar.
~humper prix host [30.09.2012, 22:04]
Ah, I see our history-challenged semi-illiterate is back again. As has been discussed on this site many times over, the Estonians and Latvians were exempt by the Nuremburg Trial over their membership in the SS units. Not only do historians agree on this, you can look it up and read it for yourself.
~@humper prix host aka It's Pat [30.09.2012, 22:56]
They were used as guards by the allies. That is why "they were freed". Japanese scientists also got amnesty. Does that mean they did not do anything wrong? Idiot.
~eesti propaganda guy [01.10.2012, 09:47]
Who said they didn't do anything wrong? I see your reading skills are up to their usual poor standard.

World War II according to (some) Estonians:

Anyone who deals with history in such inconsiderate ways, must expect criticism.

Germany had to make war on different fronts. So it runned. Soviet union and the Westallies worked together. Reply to the comment answer
~scheileke [30.09.2012, 19:04]
Nice try, scheileke. Germany had one of the finest armies in history and worked with its allies Italy, Hungary, Bulgaria, Rumania and Finland, and still lost to the Soviets. And somehow you still think the national resistance movements (which, by the way, had ZERO outside support) could have beat the Red Army and NKVD/KGB?
~Yeah, right [30.09.2012, 20:06]
Yes, I believe. At least for the next time. I´ll be on Your side too. ;)
