Over a million tourists stayed in Estonia in summer months

These tourists might never come back again seeing some of the services offered and the attitude of people here. What are Estonians so bloody happy about? Ryan Air & Easyjet gets despo brits every weekend for the cheap women and booze, tourists arriving by ship have no choice but visit as Tallinn is one of the stopover planned by the shipping company. Russians come here to shop and consume cheap booze as back home things are more expensive. Reply to the comment answer

Of course, more tourists is a BAD thing in your distoptian world. Up is down, and down is up, right?

You wish! these times are over, for know...
~knut albers [10.10.2012, 20:35]
They are over because most of the Estonian children born in the 90's have been fathered by one of these tourists. That is those who are still alive or not in the brink of death.
~pornKaiser [10.10.2012, 21:07]
Most of them? Maybe in Lasnamae, which is more of an Russian speaking "enclave." Bad enough, it doesn't represent Estonia as a whole...
~knut albers [10.10.2012, 22:54]
Knut stop building a wall over an already divided tiny country like this one. Loose women are found in both communities. You'd make a good dirty politician like the ones who are running this poor country.
~Indiana Jones 2 [10.10.2012, 23:06]
Tallinn is the Babylon of that country. No sane man would go near the Russian women of that country without a rubber, considering the high HIV rate. Than again HIV certainly is not the only STD that ravages Estonia.

Indiana Jones, I found it more of an offense to say that "most of the Estonian children born in the 90's have been fathered by one of these tourists."

First it is innacurate, and secondly the highest rates of single mothers are indeed to be found in Tallinn's district of Lasnamae, it's residents by a good majority are Russian speakers.

These are just facts and doesn't mean anything for or against this group of people.

This is also the district, where Savisaar gains most of their votes in local elections, its government is responsible for the escalating development of sexual "services" in Tallinn's Old Town.

In fact, the phenomenon of "loose women" in Estonia is home made and they are certainly not fathered by tourists at majority, but by said and other locals.

Also, these days the majority of tourists are not sperm-maniac youngsters from the UK anymore.

A lot changed since 2007 in this respect.

Tallinn, Narva... any place in Estonia just demonstrates the country's failure. Can't blame Russians on everything, knuty. Oh wait eesti clowns never take any responsibility.
~minortieis [11.10.2012, 18:05]
Esti=No or whoever you are, I am not Estonian. You can do little on someone's socializing behave and you can only blame themselves. The times where someone else can be blamed for your own mistakes are over long time.
~knut albers [11.10.2012, 19:56]
Nah. When Estonians have clowns like Unzip and Ilves as leaders. They are at least partially at fault.

Can anyone tell me if the people who are really supposed to read these comments even bothered about what we write here, or are we just wasting our time. Bet all the so called rulers of the country do not give a shit about any of this and never even open this site. Rather BBN start publishing real news like the real news suppliers like BBC, CNN & Euro news to name a few.
~Indiana Jones 2 [11.10.2012, 22:53]
Not even ordinary people care about this comment section and what we write. May be ordinary people read them for their own amusement or confirmation of becoming xenophobic. BBN should not change the news to BBC-style but close this section and therefore offer more news from Latvia and Lithuania like it want according to the name "Baltic".
~Andrus [12.10.2012, 09:27]
Ordinary people do not have internet access at their AIDS clinic in Narva or welfare office at Pärnu.

So foreign tourists went up by 1%, or about 5,000 people according to the article.

I'm surprised it didn't go up more, given the increase in flights from Tallinn airport.

According to their traffic statistics:
http://www.tallinn-airport.ee/upload/Editor/REPO7-kodulehele-ek.pdf

traffic for June-August was up about 20% over last year, for an increase in 110,000 more passengers during that period.

So, 110,000 more passengers flying through the airport, and only 5,000 more foreign tourists?

Does that mean that these increased flights aren't actually bringing in more tourists, but are just being used by Estonians to travel more, and maybe some transit traffic? That's not a bad thing -- it just helps direct the discussion about how efforts should be spent when it comes to the benefits of airport funding and more flights, as well as where those flights should go. Tallinn Airport's figures represents passengers handled (coming/going/in transit). Given the numbers of pax actually staying in Estonia (which indeed is not that impressive), maybe Tallinn Airport's (and Estonian Air's) strategy of becoming a hub to/from God-knows-where is becoming a success...

Shameful unprofessional comments of sexually frustrated foreigners: Funny on BBN , they can talk about anything, the comments will always, one way or another, fall back on comments about Estonian (or Russian) women... I suspect of course most of those comments are from men. Thank God this is not Pakistan here. Reply to the comment answer

So, you hold others of unprofessional comments (since when actually a comment section is meant to be of professionals?) and at the same breath you scribble about _foreigners_ that are supposedly "sexually frustrated."

It rathers shows your frustration of your self-proclaimed "foreigners" than about anyone else.

I don't know who pissed you off, but we'll be just fine by sitting back and letting our "enemies "destroy themselves.

I, of course, having great fun with this development.

Truth hurts, eh. If it helps, moral was not anymore higher in the 30's than it is today. I guess your Komsomol counselor lied, no matter what.
~steel beavis [12.10.2012, 21:03]
Yes. And the reason why it is not Pakistan, is because of Finnish and German money. Although apparently Brits have heard of the good "merchandise" or rather product and are now seen in Estonia almost regularly basis. It is like one eesti sow put it "Brits are the new Finns".
