Quarter of used cars go to Finland

Quarter of used lease cars are being sold to Finland, the reason is companies’ and private persons’ economic difficulties, logistikauudised.net cites YLE Uutiset.

Beside cars, heavy- and agricultural machinery is also sold abroad. Companies that are dealing with lease cars want to sell the vehicles as soon as possible.

“The number of Finns is growing each week and at least one car a day is taken to Finland,” Silver Havamaa, a car trader said.

The buyers also come from Germany and Belorussia.

Havamaa said that big number of buyers has already increased the prices of the cars.

You are right. Russian unis cost a fortune in bribes just to get into regardless of academic qualifications (http://www.sras.org/bribery_at_russian_universities?print=1 and http://www.auburn.edu/~mitrege/FLRU2520/RussianCorruption.htm). Estonian unis can't compete with that. You win that point!

Btw, we cook on an electric stove and my building is heated using heating oil, not gas. Let Russia cut off the gas and lose more money. Who cares?

And in another stroke of wisdom, look at how Russia is considering destroying its beer industry in a bid to curb alcoholism but won't touch the cheap rotgut vodka the alkies really get wrecked on.

In 2004 this country had some hope of progress.
Low costs, workforce with experience in construction, steel, engineering etc.

EVERY SINGLE project has been F...CKE D over.
We even had a major american investor wanting to invest $450m in a coastal project, that fell apart because of the totally hopeless visa/immigration policies.

I personally advised that guy to FORGET Estonia and go elsewhere in the world, which he did.....

After being the ONLY EU country to impound a caravan/car trailor, > taking a week to get it released, and spending 2hrs at a border getting an interpol check of a simple used car on another occasion, we realised this is NOT a country to do business in.

They are simply pygmies, with a total inability to adapt to the modern world.

Countries like Russia may have loads wrong with them and masses of problems, but investment in oil + gas takes MONEY, and technical universities like Moscow, cost MONEY, you can only dream of.
Moscow state Uni, does massive outsourcing of IT and pays it's way.
What has Estonia ever done apart to be outsourced for Skype? (a failed business model if there ever was one).

Oh and BTW Esti gas, uses monitoring software made in Estonia, but that gas comes from Siberia,- without which you couldn't cook your dinner.
