Lithuania estimates swine flu epidemic may cost 4% of GDP

School closures because of flu epidemic, overcrowded medical facilities, vaccines  - these is only the tip of the iceberg, writes Verslo Zinios.

The paper writes that the worst case scenario is that epidemic-related costs could amount to 4% of GDP.

By the worst case scenario, business would also bear the cost and could be obliged to assist, for instance, hotels could be transformed into hospitals, taxis into ambulances, etc.
