The Icelandic ash cloud from the Grimsvötn eruption now covers all of Estonia, said the minister of economic affairs Juhan Parts yesterday at the meeting of a special committee on safety of air travel, writes Äripäev.

Because of low concentration of ash, the cloud is not causing any problems to air traffic, said the committee.

An ash cloud from the Icelandic volcano of Grimsvötn spread above Europe earlier this week. The volcanic ash arrived in Estonian airspace on Wednesday morning.

According to Eurocontrol, the European organization for the safety of air navigation, in all more than a thousand flights were cancelled in Europe during Tuesday and Wednesday.

The number is relatively small, given the fact that more than 30,000 planes take off in Europe each and every day.
