Investor Toomas has had enough
04.08.2011, 10:12As stock market has been on a decrease for a while, indexes fall some-per cents-a-day, debenture market is still unstable and gold price screams of problems, Investor Toomas has decided to carry out a thorough cleanup in his investments.
The aim was to gain profit, limit losses and lessen the percentage of stock in the portfolio.
Toomas sold all of his Tulikivi position (3000 stocks). He would have wanted to wait for the quarter results of the company, but the stressful situation on the stock market takes precedence over such petty things, unfortunately.
He also sold 540 out of his 1040 Cramo stocks and 500 ABB stocks, keeping the other half. In Spain he forwent 500 out of his 1000 stocks of Banco Santander and 1000 Mapfre stocks out of 4000. He gave up all of his position of 1300 stocks in Marks & Spencer. 200 Royal Vopak stocks out of 500 went on sale, as did all of his Tallinn Water position (514). He also gave up 13 000 Teo Lt stocks out of 23 000, but this bite might be too big for the market to chew yet.
He is planning on selling all of his small Merck position with 100 stocks.
Toomas remains cautious, continuing with his sells if necessary, but also looking up some new investment objects.
Investor Toomas is a fictional character created by Äripäev in 2002, who was given one million kroons (63 912 euros) for investments, thus being the longest and most expensive journalistic experience in Äripäev so far.
