Eurostat: Baltic countries on top of EU by industrial production output growth
15.09.2011, 12:14Estonia had EU’s largest increase in industrial production output of 22.9% in July year on year, followed by Germany (10.4%), Latvia (9.2%) and Lithuania (8.4%), the EU statistical bureau Eurostat said.
The entire EU's average industrial production output rose 3.6% in July, including a 4.2% increase in the eurozone.
On a monthly basis, the steepest growth in industrial production was also registered in Estonia at 4.7%, followed by Germany and Greece with 4.1% each. Latvia's industrial output in July, compared to June, increased by 0.6%.
Slovakia reported the largest decrease in industrial production output, 3.4%. Portugal's industrial production output fell three% and Slovenia's 2.2%.
In annual terms, industrial production increased by 4.2% in the euro area and by 3.6% in the EU27.
