Lithuania's unemployment down to 3.5-year low in Q2

In Q2 2012, unemployment in Lithuania fell to 13.3% after an increase in Q1 to 14.5% that now appears to have been a seasonal rise.

Compared to Q2 2011, the official unemployment rate shed 2.3 percentage point and hit the lowest reading since the beginning of 2009.
 
Both male and female unemployment decreased at a similar rate to 15.3% and 11.3%, respectively.
 
Total labour force increased to a 4-quarter high of 1.62m while the number of employed population hit 1.4m, highest since Q3 2009.
